Embracing Change: How Agility and Humanity Drive Quantock Forward

We’ve seen so much change within our industry. Just when we’ve got our heads around programmatic advertising, then comes along AI – yet another disruptive technology to contend with.

Quantock was founded in 1989, at a time when it was relatively unheard of to establish a successful brand and marketing agency outside of London. Even then, that DNA of relentless evolution was clear from Day 1. I joined Quantock in 2016, and in the 8 years since, the agency has transformed and grown in ways which we couldn’t possibly have imagined.

Running a marketing agency is a funny thing. There’s absolutely no room for complacency, or standing still. To be successful, particularly as an agency, you need to be on a continual war footing; a constant state of alert. At Quantock we build everything we do on our intrinsic and collective culture—it’s the backbone of our brand.
No more than every, you need to feel at home with change, open to deploying into new markets and sectors and sifting landscapes .And when new technology comes along – you have to be agile, riding that wave of innovation, rather than pretending that it doesn’t exist.

It’s no coincidence that nearly every new client project we take on starts with group facilitation and cross-organisation involvement – people, and positive participation, where else to start than at the heart of every successful organisation.
For me a strong, collaborative team is one which can pivot, adapt, and proactively grow – without which you won’t stand a chance. Tools are great, but it’s the power of talented and motivated creatives that turns ideas into reality. A creative team can generate serious transformational change, and can even completely redefine whole sectors and industries.

Now, those of you who I’ve had the pleasure of meeting will know that I’m a pretty upbeat individual. Being positive isn’t just a part of my character – it’s the approach of how I (and Quantock) tackle everyday challenges. A growth mindset is a crucial element of creative problem solving, and the solution to so many hurdles that our clients face.
